OPĆINA PLITVIČKA JEZERA

Located in the northeastern part of Lika-senj County, this municipality includes almost 500 square miles and contains 41 settlement. The municipality counts over 4500 inhabitants, and despite the great destruction during the Homeland War, now greatly updated and equipped with infrastructures. The seat of the municipality is situated in Korenica, which is of great treasures of these municipalities, counties and States, but of the Plitvice Lakes National Park located about 20 kilometers. Highland-mountain relief of this area are characterized by the mountains Mala Kapela and Plješivica, and the largest are the benefits of this municipality of pure, untouched nature which allows tourism, ecological food production, hunting and rural tourism, numerous sources of drinking water, as well as other resources. In the municipality there are two kindergartens, DV Slapic DV you Otter, two primary schools, the ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Dr. Franjo Tudjman, and the ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, the Plitvice Lakes as well as Lake Plitvičak high school student and home of the Plitvice Lakes.
